Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook.
On Thursday -- John Lynch takes over the reins of state government.
Like his predecessor --Craig Benson- Lynch has never held public office before.
He's been a leader in business, civic and philanthropic endeavors.
But, Lynch's role as Governor will place him in the glare of the public spotlight at a time when the state is grappling with serious financial issues.
He says his ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work.
I sat down with John Lynch at his Transition Office in Concord -- to find out what we can expect in the days ahead.

As Lynch readies to take office, Outgoing Governor Craig Benson says he's looking forward to private life and spending time on business endeavors that he's put on hold while in office.
One of Benson's final acts was handing out bonuses to 20 state employees.
A program -- funded with money he set aside in foregoing his salary as governor.

Tuesday, January 4, 2005:
We taped a bit earlier today because the show was ready to go. We taped promos first. We started the show just after 4:30pm. All went well and we finished by 5:10pm. We then taped a back-up tag for tonight's show in case the snowstorm is so huge Thursday that the inauguraiton is cancelled and we need a backup Outlook program to air Thursday night. We were done by 5:20pm.
